Arusha Project: user guides

This is an index of the various pieces of Arusha Project (ARK) documentation that might answer to the name ``user guide'' (you know, when you want to do something, not just think something...)

Checking out the Arusha Project (ARK)

Trying out ARK, `sample1'-style. This is a step-by-step guide for doing an ARK experiment in your home directory. (That's a pale shadow of the real thing, but could start you on the ARK road...)

Creating a Sidai-style ARK paradise

Let's imagine you have a set of unused machines onto with which you want to build a full-blown `Sidai'-style ARK world. For this, we supply a Sidai ARK strategy document.

Using a Sidai-style ARK paradise

The Sidai team is a large-and-getting-larger accumulation of How To Do Stuff. (But by no means the only way to do these things.)

It provides proto-things from which other ARK things can inherit attributes or methods.

It provides simple tools in its own right. An example might be the Sidai ``user setup'', with which all of your users can have a common .profile, .cshrc, etc., that can be personalized, site-customized, but otherwise is the same world-wide.

It provides notes about stuff we did with commonly-used software, both freeware and commercial (e.g. Mailman and ClearCase).

In all cases, please see the team page.
