Sidai team: notes on installing the ClearCase Product Family

Two parts: set up a CPF release area (CPF = Clearcase Product Family), a once-per-site thing; then install ClearCase on each host.

Thereafter, you would expect to upgrade ClearCase on each host, from time to time.

Note well:Special pleading may be required on special hosts, e.g. registry host or license server, or perhaps VOB server(s).

Set up a CPF release area

ToDo

A `CPF-release' package captures as much of this activity as possible.

Installing ClearCase on each host

ToDo

Upgrading ClearCase on each host

I always just de-install the old stuff, then fresh-install the new stuff.

Special pleading for registry host: Take a copy of /var/adm/atria/rgy/ before you start!

Once the upgrade is done, in /var/adm/atria/rgy/, edit {view,vob}_{object,tag} and add in all the -entry=<blah> lines from the old files!

Special pleading for license server: Take a copy of ????????
